MultiTunes Cydia Tweak: Syncs your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch with Multiple iTunes Libraries

A new cydia tweak MultiTunes is out for download that lets you sync iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with multiple (virtually unlimited) iTunes libraries. By default Apple supports syncing with one iTunes library, and synchronization with different iTunes libraries will delete all the music stored locally. Though with iCloud and iTunes Match, you don’t require a computer to sync your music anymore but still Apple doesn’t allow you to sync to a friend’s iTunes library, and sync songs and videos from their computer.

You cannot add music, video or other content to your device via another computer that uses a different iTunes library. Now, thanks to MultiTunes tweak, this limit can be easily removed.

To get started you will need to use the application to create a new library. When you open the application on an iPad or iPhone, add a new library, and select it. After you select a different library, open the Music or iPod app and you’ll find completely different music collection, depending on whether you sync with iTunes or not. You can create as many libraries as you want.

The developer warns users that before you download new songs or applications through iTunes Store or App Store application, make sure that you select your default library as MultiTunes, else the contents can not be downloaded correctly.

MultiTunes jailbreak tweak, developed by Harrison Apps LLC (previously developed MyTube), can be downloaded for free from Cydia store available under the BigBoss repository. Alternatively, you can download MultiTunes .deb file and install it in respective folder of your jailbroken device (supports iOS 5 on iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch) via iFile or similar tool. Settings can easily be configured from the MultiTunes application.
