3G Unrestrictor 5: Removes 3G Limits on iPhone 4S, iPad 2 on iOS 5.x

A new jailbreak app 3G Unrestrictor 5 is out for download on cydia store which allows you to make and receive FaceTime video calls, Photo Stream, iCloud backup, watch high resolution YouTube videos, et cetera on iPhone 3G connection. You can even play online games, download big apps (greater than 20MB in size), podcasts or audio books while connected to your 3G network connection.

3G Unrestrictor 5 actually tricks other apps into thinking it’s connected via WiFi network and not on mobile 3G connections. For example, I could tell the YouTube app that I always connect with WiFi. Then, it would play HQ videos. Without any setup required you can easily get FaceTime running over 3G and use it anywhere you want.

3G Unrestrictor 5 is reported to be flexible and works on almost all 3rd party apps that blocks you from running certain features that are otherwise possible on what you can do on 3G. For instance, you can watch program on 3G easily or download new audio books (via Audible) using 3G Unrestrictor 5. The app comes with two SBSettings toggles to allow you to quickly enable and disable it, as well as change YouTube quality settings to high, medium or low quality.

In order to install the 3G Unrestrictor 5 app, you must first jailbreak your iOS device on iOS 4.1.x or 5.x firmware. I would advice you to use redsn0w for stable and clean jailbreak. Purchase the app via cydia store. Once the payment is complete you can proceed ahead to install the app. After installing just start the configuration app and select all the applications you want to be unrestricted. Some applications have extra settings, which you can setup by pressing the little arrow next to them.

I tested a call using Skype over 3G and it worked perfectly. Played high-resolution WiFi quality videos over 3G! This little tweak is definitely worth the money if you’re tired of apps limiting you to WiFi.
