Corona Untether 1.0-4 has been released which brings permanent fix to long standing iBooks crashing issue. The latest Corona package includes sandbox patches from Saffron exploit that fixes iBooks problems, as well as another fix for launchctl error. Few minutes after,Corona was updated to 1.0-5 by Saurik again to require a reboot after installing.

Credit goes to @xvolks in patching the kernel sandbox in corona by including @comex sandbox patches into the Corona GIT successfully.

If you are already running untethered jailbreak on 5.0.1, just re-install Corona Untether 1.0-5 and reboot your iOS device. That means version 1.0.5 can be installed on top of redsn0w 0.9.10bx jailbreak to upgrade the 5.0.1 untether. You will then be able to open the purchased iBooks on your jailbroken device with having any crashing issue. In order to download and install Corona 5.0.1 Untether 1.0-5 follow the steps below.

If you are doing for the first time, download latest redsn0w 9.9.10b4 (contains iBooks fix too) and jailbreak it using the tool. In case you have already installed xBooks tweak, you’ll need to remove it and reinstall iBooks.

How to fix iBooks Crashing Bug usingCorona5.0.1 Untether 1.0-5

Step 1: Jailbreak your iOS Device riding on iOS 5.0.1 using redsn0w (Guide posted here). Skip this step, if you have already untethered jailbroken on iOS 5.0.1.

Step 2: Launch Cydia on your jailbroken idevice’s springboard.

Step 3: Search for “corona” in Cydia and install it.

Step 4: This will automatically fix iBooks issue on your jailbroken iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1G or iPod touch 4G, 3G.
Step 5: After running Corona 5.0.1 Untether, please reboot your iPhone using the normal “slide to power off” swipe.

It is utmost important for you NOT TO update to iOS 5.0.2 or iOS 5.1 when it’s out, that would cut your jailbreak possibilities. We will let you know, whenever it is safe to update your mobile operating system.
