Apple has posted iOS 5.1 beta 3 (build 9B5141a) to developers fixing the battery draining issues apart from fixing minor bugs besides offering stability improvements over iOS 5.1 beta 2 released about a month back. It is highly recommended to be cautious and take a backup before you install iOS 5.1 beta 3 9B5141a on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.

Jailbreakers and unlockers on iOS 5.0.1 should stay away from updating their iOS device to the latest iOS 5.1 beta 3, since it will likely patch pod2g’s untethered jailbreak exploit.
No new feature has been spotted nor called out by Apple in the change log. But, developers have already started digging a little deeper into iOS 5.1 beta 3 9B5141a rigs. We will let you know as soon as we hear something from the developer community.
Registered developers can head to the Apple Developer site ($99/year Developer Program required) and download the iOS 5.1 beta 3 9B5141a for iPad (3G, WiFi), iPad 2 (3G, WiFi), iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 (GSM, CDMA), iPhone 3GS, and the 3rd and 4th generation iPod touch models.
In case you are not registered, you can still follow the direct links listed below to download bits of iOS 5.1 beta 3 right now.
[Update 1:] In the fresh rigs of iOS 5.1 beta 3, Apple has enabled 3G toggle allowing iPhone users to turn off 3G cellular data access. This will probably fix battery drainage issues to some extent.
