Corona 5.0.1 Untether: Brings Untethered Jailbreak based on pod2g’s Exploit

In addition to iPhone Dev Team’s redsn0w 0.9.10, Chronic Dev Team have independently packaged pod2g’s untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak exploit into a working cydia package - Corona 5.0.1 Untether. The package essentially cuts the cord while rebooting the jailbroken iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1G, iPod touch 4G and 3G. Corona 5.0.1 Untether will allow iOS 5.0.1 device to reboot without requiring an external source such as redsn0w.

How to Untether 5.0.1 Jailbreak using Corona 5.0.1 Untether

Step 1: Jailbreak your iOS Device riding on iOS 5.0.1 using redsn0w (Guide posted here). Skip this step, if you have already tethered jailbroken on iOS 5.0.1.

Step 2: Start Cydia on your jailbroken iPhone iOS 5.0.1 springboard.

Step 3: Search for “corona” in Cydia and install it.

Step 4: This will automatically untether your jailbroken iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, ipad or iPod touch.
Step 5: After running Corona 5.0.1 Untether, please reboot your iPhone using the normal “slide to power off” swipe.

Don’t update to iOS 5.0.2 or iOS 5.1 when it’s out, that would cut your jailbreak possibilities. If you face any trouble while jailbreaking your device, just drop a message in the comment section. Alternatively, you can follow JAlLBREAKS on twitter for quick support.

    even though i updated to 5.1, it still let me jailbreak but when i try to install corona it says : The requested modifications cannot be applied due to required dependencies or conflicts that can not be automatically found or fixed… PLESE HELP!!!!!!!!

    I followed all the instruction but when i install corona it comes :subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1sub-process / usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)When i press return to cydia. It says :Half – Installed Package , allowing me to choose Ignore (temporary) OR Forcibly Clear.

      Due to new Corona 5.0.1 untether, cydia repos are hammered. Things will be slow. Just try later if you get errors.
