pod2g Releases Untethered 5.0.1 Jailbreak – Download Redsn0w 0.9.10b1 now!

Pod2g has released an untethered 5.0.1 jailbreak for all iOS devices except the iPhone4S and iPad2. Last week pod2g handed over the untether exploit to both the iPhone dev Team and the chronic dev team.  Lead hacker Musclenerd has packaged the full-blown exploit into redsn0w 0.9.10 and PwnageTool, and the chronic dev team put it into a Cydia package Corona 5.0.1 Untether.

iOS 5.0.1 untether Jailbreak Supporting devices

iPhone 3GS, iPhone4 (both GSM and CDMA), iPad1, iPod touch 3G and iPod touch 4G. Since the hack works on iOS 5.0.1, update it now. The SHSH window is still open for 5.0.1.  If you unlock via ultrasn0w or gevey, make sure you only get to 5.0.1 via a custom IPSW!  Once you’re at 5.0.1, use the latest redsn0w 0.9.10 to both jailbreak and untether.

Already tethered jailbroken iOS 5.0.1?

You can either run redsn0w 0.9.10 over your current jailbreak  but make sure to deselect “Install Cydia” or install the Cydia package Corona 5.0.1 untether prepared by the chronic dev team.  Either of the two will work, since both of them uses same untether exploit.

Hybrid 5.0/5.0.1 configuration user – Please Note

Do not install this untether since it will get you into a reboot cycle.  For untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak, do sync and restore your iOS device to 5.0.1 and then install the jailbreak + untether.
