GEVEY Ultra S Now Unlocks iPhone 4S on iOS 6.0 with a Catch

The hardware modders over ApplenBerry have a new version of GEVEY Ultra S allowing iPhone 4S users to carrier unlock their phone running on iOS 6.0 build 10A403. With GEVEY Ultra S, iPhone 4S users can easily remove the carrier restriction on baseband 2.0.10, 2.0.12 and 3.0.04.

Right now, the unlock solution works for iPhone 4S (GSM Model Only), but currently not on CDMA. CDMA 6.0 will work when the jailbreak comes out. To simplify your understanding, we have listed down the supported devices and baseband.

Warning: Here’s the catch! The GEVEY Ultra S for iPhone 4S iOS 6.0 does not fully support MMS functionality in GSM iPhone on some network. This is because the MMS settings are locks within iOS 6.0 by Apple. Since iFunBot, iBackUpBot, and Jailbreak have been used in previous iOS versions to manually program SMS and MMS settings and circumvent this issue, expect a solution to come after a jailbreak for iOS 6.0 is publicly released. You can then manually program MMS settings.

Currently, Gevey Ultra S for iOS 6.0 supports unlocking iPhone 4S on iOS 5.1 (build 9B176 ) with baseband 2.0.10, iOS 5.1.1 (build 9B206) with baseband 2.0.12 and iOS 6.0 (build 10A403) with baseband 3.0.04.

Note: iOS 5.0 (build 9A334) baseband 1.0.11, iOS 5.0.1 build 9A405  on BB 1.0.13 and iOS 5.0.1 build 9A406 on baseband 1.0.14 are not supported.
