iOS hacker Yiduo David Wang, better known as @planetbeing in jailbreaking circles has made a significant progress in jailbreaking iPhone 5 on iOS 6.0 (build 10A405). Earlier today he revealed that he had managed to run the full tethered jailbreak on the iPhone 5 running on iOS 6. The announcement came almost a month after an independent hacker @chpwn successfully ran iOS 6.0 untethered jailbreak on his iPhone 5. Later chpwn revealed that his jailbreak for iPhone 5 device would be reserved as a #failbreak – means it will be limited to jailbreak developers and won’t be released to the public.
The vulnerability and method used by the planetbeing is not for public consumption since the new exploit discovered in iOS 6.0 is not legally distributive. The hacker clarified that these exploits would be reserved as a #failbreak and could help him in discovering new vulnerabilities in the future.
Upgraded the #failbreak with a kernel exploit so tweaks actually work on iPhone 5. Almost a full tethered JB, though need dev account.

He further added that he will announce the ETA for iPhone 5 6.0 jailbreak only when the jailbreak is legally distributive and fully untethered. There is no sense in burning three precious vulnerabilities for tethered jailbreak when four will get you untethered.
@payturr It’s likely we would try working on an untether for awhile. No sense burning 3 vulns for tethered when 4 will get you untethered.

Only after doing rigorous testing, planetbeing will package the exploit into greenpois0n Absinthe which might take few more days before it is ready for public release. We, therefore, request you to stay calm. The team is hard at work and they will announce A6 jailbreak as soon as they can.
Warning Apple might release iOS 6.1 or an incremental iOS 6.0.1 software update which might patch the exploits being used. Be sure you hold off on upgrading to any upcoming iOS update until planetbeing release its iPhone 5 untethered jailbreak.
