Some close-up, if somewhat blurry, pictures of the iPad Mini has been leaked that are good enough to get the geek in us all worked up. According to leaked images obtained by parts supplier ETrade Supply, Apple’s new creation will boast same 4:3 aspect ratio of the full-size iPad and will measure 162 mm x 124 mm. Perhaps the most interesting part is that the tablet display suggests the part was manufactured by LG Display.
The supplier has posted number of photos of an iPad mini battery, which appears to be identical to the part leaked earlier this week. However, ETrade Supply’s battery is tagged with an APN of 616-0627, whilst the earlier one carried an APN of 616-0641 marking. The battery runs at 3.72 volts, offering 16.7 watts-per-hour (wHr) of energy on 4490 mAh of charge. No other difference is noticeable.
Apple has never announced plans to manufacture miniature version of current iPad, but it has been in the works a long time. Component suppliers from China have tipped Apple’s smaller tablet plans numerous times by posting replacement parts, digitizer, et cetera.
Amid growing rumors, Apple announced special event for October 23rd earlier this week and the company will likely introduce 7.85-inch iPad Mini alongside new iMac and Mac Mini models. All that’s left to find out now when is a launch date and price. Pricing for the iPad Mini is believed to fall in the $249 – $349 range. The new iPad starts at $499.
As always, we’ll bring you the news as soon as it breaks, so stay tuned to Cydia Blog for iPad Mini updates. See, it’s catchy isn’t it?
