iOS 5 users who have recently jailbroken their iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or iPad using redsn0w or sn0wbreeze are facing issues while trying to open the iBooks app. Every time they try to open it, the iBooks crashes and won’t open. The issue is not related to app and will not help you even if you install an older version of iBook application.
The issue is related to the in-efficient handling of sandbox patches in the kernel by both redsn0w and sn0wbreeze tool. iH8sn0w of sn0wbreeze has managed to fix the problem and shared a teaser video as a proof. The hacker has not packaged the fix into his jailbreaking tool, since it isn’t a stable fix.
We can expect the stable iBooks fix in jailbroken iOS 5 from iPhone Dev Team. Stay tuned! We will update you as soon as the updated redsn0w is available.
