Don’t expect iPhone 5 jailbreak to be released soon! Chronic Dev Team’s @pod2g has just confirmed he is not working on iOS 6 jailbreak and that he is currently focusing on his regular job. This is indeed a big blow for entire jailbreaking community who are anxiously waiting for A5 (iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPad 3) and A6 (iPhone 5) jailbreak running Apple’s iOS 6 mobile operating system. Currently only A4 devices can be jailbroken on iOS 6 using redsn0w but we will not advice you to go for it since most of the Cydia apps are buggy and doesn’t support iOS 6.
About the iOS 6 JB : I’m not working on it ATM, sorry. I’m focusing on my job. Maybe discussions at #WWJC will generate ideas (?).

This is in contrast to a claim made by Chronic Dev Team’s pod2g in an interview in Amsterdam during the Hack in the Box conference 2012, claiming that they have already found the exploits necessary to jailbreak iOS 6. He earlier told:
“We won’t give up on jailbreaking iOS devices because this is too important for us and we already have a part of the jailbreak for iOS 6 and we will be ready right on time for it”.
ETA for 6.0 A5/A6 jailbreak: UNKNOWN
You must be wondering why pod2g is not working on 6.0 jailbreak? May be because Apple has improved the architecture of the chips in their latest devices, and it has become very difficult and time consuming for hackers to find working vulnerabilities to jailbreak the device. On top of that, each new version of the firmware makes harder for jailbreakers to discover exploits in the firmware rigs.
Now we are seeing a glimmer of hope from developer chpwn, often known for developing jailbreak tweaks and applications but successfully jailbroken iPhone 5 last week running on iOS 6.0. iPhone Dev Team, however, is working out a possible solution to downgrade all iOS devices from iOS 6 to lower firmware for easy jailbreak.
Stay tuned! We will update you along with full tutorial guides on how to jailbreak iOS 6 or downgrade. To get timely notification, follow Jailbreaks on Twitter or Facebook. If you have any other issue related to jailbreaking jump to jailbreak forum to seek help.
