Unlock your AT&T Locked iPhone 5 Permanently

Got a new iPhone 5 in hand? Looking to unlock it? There are couple of factory unlock services available which are offering a permanent unlock solution for your iPhone. Just supply your iPhone’s International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number and the carrier to which your iPhone is locked to.

iOS hacker Chronic is the first to announce that he can factory unlock any AT&T iPhone (iPhone 5, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S or 3GS) for only $30. Yes including iPhone 5. Wow! This is a cracking deal! Isn’t? In addition to AT&T he is unlocking iPhone locked with other carriers – such as 3 UK for $150, Telstra Australia for $30, et cetera.

In addition, Applenberry has also announced the support for unlocking iPhone 5 and are giving away their permanent AT&T iPhone IMEI unlock solution on all iPhone versions for only $49.99. Existing customers (those who purchased Gevey hardware SIM) can avail $5 off by using coupon code 5OFFIMEI). CutYourSIM, Negri Electronics and SuperPaddyNL, are the other reliable sources that you can check. CYS is currently offering AT&T unlocks for $48.50 and the site suggests support for all models except iPhone 5. Whilst Negri  Electronics has set a price of $55 to unlock iPhone 5 on iOS 6.

How IMEI iPhone Unlock Works?

All these guys have actual access to the Apple database and have a solid contact within AT&T who does have access to it. To permanently remove carrier restrictions, they simple add your iPhone IMEI number in a white-list database of unlocked iPhones.  Within 24 to 72 hours you’ll receive an email detailing the process to complete the unlock process. As instructed on email, back-up and fully restore your iPhone 5 to be unlocked and then tether it to iTunes (you will lose your jailbreak during the process). Soon after a confirmation screen will appear stating that the device has been unlocked. A new SIM card is not required to permanently unlock your AT&T iPhone.

Once unlocked, you will be able to use your iPhone with any network carriers worldwide without any restriction such as on T-Mobile, or on a prepaid international SIM while traveling abroad.

Tip: iPhone 4/4S AT&T customers can try using iPhone unlock portal by AT&T before choosing any of the options listed above.

    i paid $30 for unlock. I got reply saying that the phone is unlocked. I am still in confusion whether to restore my phone or not as there is a chance of locking the phone permanently. Currently i am using gevey sim to unlock it.
    Can I trust and restore? did any body unlock from this source?

      GEYVEY is just for temporary unlock as long as you still have the gevey sim in phone. And it will be locked again after restore. While this IMEI/factory unlock is forever no matter what.
