With Apple expected to launch iPad Mini on September 12, alleged internal parts have leaked out into the wild. We have already seen iPad Mini Cases and back aluminum shells leaked in past few weeks, and this part further corroborates its existence. This could mean that Apple is ready to introduce another revolutionary tablet, to combat with Google Nexus tablet and Amazon Kindle.

Obtained by Nowhereelse.fr, the photos show a flex cable component for the “iPad mini”, packing Apple’s smaller dock connector, the headphone jack, and the home button connector. The layout of the internal circuitry is almost same to that of a part said to be for the iPhone 5 that we first spotted back in May.

iPad Mini Connector

Interestingly, the headphone jack is located at the bottom and directly next to the dock connector. However, past leaks over few month suggests that Apple will be moving the headphone jack to this location for the iPhone 5, various iPad Mini case leaks, design drawings, and physical mockups shows that the headphone jack will be located on the top edge of the iPad mini, as available on iPad.

If the repair part is to be believed, and it’s not sure that it is, the new iPad Mini (or iPad Air, whatever you call it) could be a budget, Nexus 7-like affair, i.e. a slimmed down iPad without a rear-facing camera.
