Developers over SiriPort have re-written the SiriPort to add stability and to make the server more responsive. They have just released SiriPort (Original) 5.1.1-3 which allows you to run Siri digital assistant on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G and iPod touch 3G running jailbroken iOS 5.1.1. SiriPort (Original) 5.1.1-2 is no longer supported and past versions of the same will no longer be supported by a certificate 1.crt. A new certificate file has been made available which users must install for clean installation.

This is probably the only way (rather best) to install Siri on 5.1.1 and all other un-official Siri ports which use Spire Tweak have gone dead due to the fact that Apple does not host a decrypted copy of Siri for iOS 5.1. SiriPort (Original) 5.1.1-3 doesn’t require proxy server or iPhone 4S in hand.

The process for installing Siri is simple and straightforward.  If you want to try this method, see the step by step guide below.

SiriPort (Original) 5.1.1-3 Installation Instructions

Step 1: Jailbreak iPhone or iPod touch  using Absinthe, if you haven’t already.

Step 2: Add the repository http://repo.siriport.ru

Step 3: Install a package SiriPort (Original) 5.1.1-3

Step 4: Install the certificate by visiting http://siriport.ru/siriport_ru_original.pem

Step 5: Reboot your iOS device

Step 6: Activate Siri and say “Hi Siri” Siri won’t work, wait 20 minutes and try again. (Say “Hi Siri”)

Step 7: Repeat step 6 until Siri is activated

Worked the first time i started Siri and said “hi Siri”, and after 30 seconds she replied “Hello back”. Working fine now! Iphone 3Gs Old BR iOS 5.1.1.

  • Saladon

This worked for me first time.  Although, after I installed & rebooted, I installed teh certificate from the mentioned URL, but only SiriPort.Ru Original was available in the Setings menu.  After clicking on that, i clicked on “Install Certificate” which installed th cert again, and then Siri became available in the menu.  Worked like a charm first time, no waiting time at all.  Thanks! :D DD

Siri worked right away on my iphone 4. Didnt have to wait 20 mins, only 10 mins, then it worked fine..

  • charles roe

It seems kind of slow to me. I downloaded this last night on my Iphone 4 (absinthe) and it works perfectly. and to the users that get stuck on the apple logo my phone didnt get off the apple logo for 10 min solid till I hit the home button a couple times. I let it sit while I slept and I’m very excited to be using this today! :)

After 2 hours waiting, it finally worked.
    IOS 5.1.1, Absinthe 2.0 JB,
    Installed Siriport (Original) .
At setting-General-SiriPort, installed certificate though I had done by visiting the address above with iphone4′s Safari.

Tried 4 times, maybe before I tried more frequently than every 20minutes. I then put it aside and did something else. It was maybe 30 minutes later that I tried and successfully activated siri.

    • Bob

How many hours? And what jailbreak did you use?

  • http://jermj.tumblr.com Jeremy Rogers

I used redsn0w for my jailbreak. Is that why Siri keeps coming back with a “sorry” and its not working?

  • landon

  • trey

      • trey

  • Phen

I just activated my iphone4 GSM after 3 days of trying. After a couple questions on siri my went reactivating again. Is this normal? i tot if siri is activated it will be working forever as long as the server is good. Damn, this is useless.

  • Clyde

will it work on iOS 5.0.1?

    • Loony

      nope. 5.1.1 only!

  • Ammaar

Has anyone got it to work on a IPod Touch yet?

    • Anon

It worked for my iPod Touch, I haven’t gotten Siri to talk back to me however. I’ll keep trying, since I literally just installed it.

  • JC

    Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After 5 min. and 15 tries I got it to say back “Hello” to me, and I can use it now!
    I’m on 3gs, snowbreezed untetheres 5.1.1 ofcourse!
Just keep saying “Hi Siri” that’s the key!
Congrats to all the team great work everybody!

    • J. R.

Did you say “hey” over and over again or did you wait 20min like the directions?

      • Loony

just try it over and over again. i tried about 2 hours, just saying “hi”, waiting for an answer, over and over again. never waited 20 minutes, this ist not necessary, just a big waste of time considering the fact that you have to say this a few hundred times (if you are unlucky) until you catch the key…

  • Ammaar

So, on my iPod touch it won’t load the Certificate site

  • Tim

I’m trying to get it work..and it looks like it installed fine, but I keep getting an error from Siri after it tries to respond for a few minutes. I have T-mobile…can this work via Wifi??

  • G

Step 5: reboot… my ipod 4G is stuck on apple sign on reboot. any help please?

    • Anon

You have to have 5.1.1 Software.

  • Shante

    How do I activate Siri??

  • Loony

Got it working on my 3GS for a few days now. Working great, but it’s an extreme memory hog. not much ram left after installing it, and the phone gets quite sluggish.. but works nice nonetheless.

  • handsomecheung

    iphone4,and it work!

  • Nathan

Do you have to jailbreak with absinthe? I jail broke my iPod touch 4g with redsnow on 5.1.1 and it keeps saying I’m sorry. Have tried the 20 minutes and reboot but nothing fixes it. Please help.

  • ScartownManiac

My ipod is jailbroen with absinthe 2.0.
even when i try the 20 minute after thing siri still says sorry cant help you try again.
why is this? did i do something wrong?

    • almostthere

you must be patient. at least 50 times, for 10 days, talk. talk and talk to siri.

    • mark

Same as me. It’s been 17hours right now

    • Romliest

I have the same problem!!! What can i do??…Siri still say Sorry but I cant help you right now :( help!!!!

  • Eldien

this is great, it work for me from only one try (after the 20 minutes that mentioned). Many thanks.

  • PWN3d

Took 12 hours then it finally worked. Let my iPhone 4 GSM sit overnight and it caught the key on the first try in the morning.

  • http://www.facebook.com/edward.castro.96 Edward Castro

works just great after 3 times it works …. thanks

  • http://www.facebook.com/edryanjoshua Edryan Joshua

Sorry but it seems this wont work in ipad 1, 2, or 3 ive tried it on my ipad 2 and 3 it gives me the same problem, after i installed and restarted my springboard i got stuck on loading screen :(

    • Person1

It does not say it works on iPad. Read the instructions carefully.

  • Ice

Yay, finally worked! I already tried the older SiriPort versions (non-bootable, BIG problems, really hard to restore) and Spite (non-bootable, restorable) but this one finally worked (and booted!).

Let’s see what Siri can do for me ;)

  • Anon

If when I toggle Siri to ‘on’ in settings, and it doesn’t stay on when I close out the settings…does that mean it’s not activated yet or that something went wrong during install? It’s been about 5 hours since install. Running iPhone 4 5.1.1 CDMA

    • royjuffer

You must turn off you’re idevice and turn it on

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1775351014 Stephen Deganato

        what did u d0?

  • http://twitter.com/MashiAnkrekku Mashi An’krekku

Alright, so this is how I updated my 5.1.1-2 SiriPort to 5.1.1-3.

    1. Remove the previously installed certificate.
    2. Re-add the repo (only because mine vanished for some reason, maybe yours didn’t).
    3. Update, reboot.
    4. Install new cert, reboot.
    5. Test Siri, she worked immediately!

I left a comment earlier asking how I would go about this and was immediately reported for abuse? What’s up wit dat, du?

    • PWN3D

What type is your phone (iphone GSM?) and what is your firmware version and what version of Absinthe did you use to JB?

      • http://twitter.com/MashiAnkrekku Mashi An’krekku

        iPhone 4 (GSM), 5.1.1, Absinthe 2.0.2.

When I followed the directions from the last post, my iPhone was jailbroken with the redsn0w tether, but untethered by installing Rocky Racoon.

  • http://www.facebook.com/edryanjoshua Edryan Joshua

after i installed and restarted my spring board i got stuck on loading screen? what should i do? thank you

    • Brian

Did you figure anything out? I have the same problem.

      • ranajee3

Do make sure that you are on ios 5.1.1 and in this case you need to restore you iphone from backup and repeat the method after unistalling siri from repo and certificate fromsetting.

  • PWN3D

Had an earlier version of SiriPort working on iPhone 4 (GSM), but it stopped working yesterday afternoon. I upgraded to SiriPort 5.1.1-3 via Cydia (followed the above directions), but after upgrade Siri is NOT working. I checked SiriPort 5.1.1-3 in Cydia, and there is an orange caution triangle with the message “files installed to /User.” Is that an error? Anyone know? Hope I get Siri working again, because it was awesome while it lasted!

    • Tezz

I too see the message “files installed to /User.” can anyone confirm if this is an error or not?

      • http://twitter.com/MashiAnkrekku Mashi An’krekku

My Siri works but I get this too. Hm.

  • http://twitter.com/MashiAnkrekku Mashi An’krekku

How would one go about updating their current installation of Siriport? Overwrite and install the new cert?

In other news, it seems as if the siriport.ru repo disappeared from my last install.

  • Dom

@b00e575e5a3cb7301bcbaf6f17206b48:disqus its not fake i have it on 3 iphones and my ipad read directions right before you start posting BS dont be mad cause you can not follow directions

  • Ozzy hendrik

Thanks a lot it worked!! The only thing that doesnt work is that i cant seem to activate siri,, any suggestions?

    • ranajee3

Go to general>siri>enable it first :)

  • Thomas

There is no toggle in Setting to turn on Siri on my iPhone4. Is that correct?

    • Ozzy hendrik

      Go to general>siri>enable :)

  • engineer

it worked for me ,,,iphone 4 5.1.1 ,,,hope it will saty work in future

  • Marriu

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1775351014 Stephen Deganato

Yeah if u installed the wrong siriport. Choose the Siriport (Orignal) not the Siriport

    • Mike

I hate ignorant people like this.

  • Jonathan

I followed method suggested by Mike and I am able to get Siri up and running on my iPhone 4 GSM on iOS 5.1.1
