The Chronic Dev Team has released Absinthe 2.0.4 adding support to jailbreak 5.1.1 build 9B206 on iPad2,4 which was intentionally excluded earlier due of unavailability of the device in hand. The team has now added a payload required for iPad2,4 to work correctly with Absinthe 5.1.1 jailbreak.
The current Absinthe 2.0.4 is the most stable release to date and addresses most of the minor bugs that arrived with its first release - Absinthe 2.0. Apart from extending untethered jailbreak support to iPad2,4 model on iOS 5.1.1, the change log doesn’t address any other bug. Download the latest version of Absinthe v2.0.4 from our downloads page.
Just to re-iterate, following is the list of devices and firmware which can be jailbroken using the Absinthe 2.0.4 on Windows, Mac and Linux.
Supported Devices and Firmware on 5.1.1
- iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 (GSM + CDMA) and iPhone 3GS
- iPod touch 4G and iPod touch 3G
- iPad 3, iPad 2 and iPad 1G: All three models (WiFi, GSM, CDMA)
- Apple TV2
The tutorial guides to jailbreak 5.1.1 iPad 2,4 build 9B206 would remain exactly the same. The method is fairly simple and even your grandma can jailbreak your iOS device.
