A new jailbreak tweak AssistantServer Installer is up for grabs in Cydia store under ZodTTD repository. As the name suggests, this tweak allows you to install Siri digital assistant on non-4S iOS devices such as iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad 1G including iPod touch 4G running jailbroken iOS 5.x. The method provided by the tweak is 100% legal. Instead of being connected to Apple servers (like AssistantConnect), AssistantServer Installer uses public speech recognition software for voice processing via GoogleSpeechAPI.
The server takes the speech packets and converts it to flac codec. It then sends it to google for processing. After processing google sends what you said in plain text, the server relays the information back to Siri on your jailbroken iDevice. Simple, straight and legal since Apple servers don’t come into picture at all.
It is important to note that AssistantServer Installer cydia tweak will not install the original Siri available on iPhone 4S, but it comes very close to it. That said, if you do decide to go ahead with this method, know that this is an initial version and there could be some connectivity issues. With that said, head on to read up on the process.
Instructions to Install Siri using AssistantServer Installer Tweak
Step 1: Since AssistantServer Installer servers require Spire, your iOS device must be jailbroken on either iOS 5.0 or iOS 5.0.1. If you haven’t, then you can use Redsn0w to jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad and iPod touch 4G. You can locate the jailbreak guide for your firmware here. Follow the next steps below:
Step 2: Launch Cydia from your Home Screen and install AssistantServer Installer tweak available under ZodTTD repo.
Step 3: Reboot your iOS device.
Step 4: Now that you have installed the tweak, go to Settings -> SiriServer. You will then be presented with the following screen.

Step 5: Tap on to the Install Certificate button. It will automatically install the certificate files onto your device. This method is fairly simple as it doesn’t require emailing the .cert file and opening it into the device. To use some plugins, you will need to enter an API key for certain service (Google Voice email, Bing, etc..)
Step 6: Enter the following server address into Spire, navigate to: Settings -> Spire. The server address is: https://localhost:4443
Step 7: Navigate to: Settings -> General -> Siri and tap the on switch, this will activate the Siri.
Step 8: Hold down your home button and Say “Hello Siri” if she says hello back, you are connected.

The servers of AssistantServer Installer tweak are fast with no connectivity issues. They are responsive and match with that on iPhone 4S. Users can now install Siri Assistant without having iPhone 4S in hand and without paying monthly recurring fee for paid Siri proxy servers. The tweak can be downloaded for a one-time fee of $1.99 only.
If the method listed above fails to install Siri or you are looking for a completely free solution, you may alternatively try Greenriver’s siriServer or updated Siriport.
Would you like to try the tweak to port Siri legally on your iOS Device? For any connectivity issue, sound-off in the FORUMS.
