Samsung Galaxy III is officially coming on the 3rd of May in Londonat a “Samsung Mobile Unpacked” event. Samsung has sent out press invite which says “come and meet the next Galaxy”. The press invite doesn’t boast about Samsung Galaxy III but just display blue and white ‘droplets’ with a brushed metal texture. Samsung plans to live stream the event which begins at 7pm local time (2pm EDT, 11am PDT) via its official Facebook page of Samsung Mobile.
Till to date, little is known about the new smartphone. Rumors suggests that Galaxy S III could get a screen’s real estate of 4.7-inch with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The processor would be Samsung’s own Exynos 4412 with a quad-core system-on-a-chip, whose Cortex A9 processor cores clocked at 1.5 GHz. The phone would run on Android 4.0. Like the HTC One S, the housing of the Samsung Galaxy III is made of ceramic for firmness. The phone is widely speculated to pack features such as NFC, 4G and wireless charging.
We’ve already known a new Galaxy III phone was coming. What we didn’t know, however, was what it’d look like, and what kind of specs it would be rocking. On the heels of official announcement, BGR sources confirms that that the Galaxy S III will feature a physical home button in the middle of the device under the display (yes just like an iPhone), and it won’t use the on-screen navigation buttons Google introduced in Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The phone could look like a brushed blue metal, possibly aluminum or stainless steel.
We have less than 20 days before the Galaxy S III collapses under the weight of its own rumors.
