Within a day, Notcom has updated his flagship TinyUmbrella v5.10.12 to v5.10.14 which brings fixes to minor issues while saving BBTicket (Baseband Signing Ticket) for iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and iPhone 4 CDMA. In addition, the skilled developer has added BBTicket support for iPad baseband in TinyUmbrella 5.10.14.

Till now, none of the hack allowed baseband downgrades if the baseband is still signed by Apple. But going by the latest development, it seems Notcom has found a way to save APTicket / BBTicket SHSH certificate with a specific number which might help us in downgrading the iPhone or iPad baseband. If you’re not aware of what Baseband Signing Ticket is or how to save BBTicket, here is a simple guide for you to follow, as directed by the developer himself:

Supported iOS Devices:

iPhone 4 (GSM, CDMA), iPhone 4S, iPad 3G, iPad 2 3G, iPad 2 CDMA, iPad 3 GSM, iPad 3 CDMA).

What is BBTicket?

The baseband bootloaders - 2.8 (for the iPhone 4 iOS 4.1) and 2.13 (bootloader for the iPhone 4 and iPad 2 GSM with iOS 4.3-5.0) generate a random number while restoring the iOS device which is sent to iTunes and finally iTunes sent it to Apple servers. Apple then sends the APTicket / BBTicket SHSH certificate with a specific number which is then matched to the number generated on your iPhone or iPad. If both the number matches, iTunes prepares the matched certificate and stitches the blobs to the firmware. If the SHSH blobs don’t match the restore process fails and the bootloaders reject the certificate file.
