Apple has publicly released iOS 5.0.1 (build 90A405) addressing battery drainage issues apart from offering handful of stability and security improvements over mobile operating system since the company launched iOS 5. In addition to fix battery drain-out issues, iOS 5.0.1 brings several other enhancements including multitasking gestures on the original iPad, bug fix with documents in Apple’s iCloud service, and voice recognition accuracy for Australian users on the Siri-based iPhone 4S.
This update contains improvements and other bug fixes including:
- Fixes bugs affecting battery life
- Adds Multitasking Gestures for original iPad
- Resolves bugs with Documents in the Cloud
- Improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation

The company seeded the iOS 5.0.1 beta 2 to developers last friday. Apple users can download the iOS 5.0.1 for iPad (3G, WiFi), iPad 2 (3G, WiFi), iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 (GSM, CDMA), iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G and 3G models.
