How to Install Siri on iPad 2, iPhone 4/3GS & iPod touch Using i4Siri Spire Proxy Server

Looking to experience Siri magic on your non-iPhone 4S device? Well your wait is finally over! Developers working on i4Siri project have finally released free Siri proxy servers to public to experience Siri on their iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad 1G, iPod touch 4G and iPod Touch 3G (with headphones). This port is 100% LEGAL!

Users can now install Siri Assistant without having iPhone 4S in hand and without paying monthly recurring fee for paid Siri proxy servers. Since i4Siri servers require Spire, your iOS device must be jailbroken on either iOS 5.1 or iOS 5.0.1. Devices jailbroken on iOS 5.1 (with redsn0w) will not going to work as Spire tweak is not compatible with iOS 5.1.

Like GRWH siriServer, i4Siri convert the Siri speech packets to flac codecs to send to Google API service for processing. After processing google sends what you said in plain text, the server relays the information back to Siri on your jailbroken iOS device. No hassle of being connected to Apple servers. That said, know that this is a beta version and there could be some connectivity issues. With that said, head on to read up on the process.

Step 1: To connect to their Siri server your iOS device must be running on jailbroken iOS 5 and above. If you haven’t, then you can use Redsn0w to jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad and iPod touch 4G. iPad 2 users can use Absinthe tool. Follow the next steps below:

Step 2: Add repo http://idevicedaily.com/repo/

Step 3: Now install the Spire for iPad on your iPad from the newly added repo

Step 4: Start new Cydia

Step 5: Add this repo: http://i4siri.com/repo

Step 6: Now install ‘i4Siri’ from the repo you just added, ’i4Siri’ for the iPhone and iPod Touch ’ i4Siri iPad Install ’ for the ‘ iPad

Step 7: Enter the following server proxy address into Spire, navigate to: Settings -> Spire. The server address is: http://i4sirifree.mooo.com

Step 8: Look-up ‘i4Siri’ under ‘Extensions’ and tap on ‘Install Certificate’

Step 9: Once you tap on ‘Install Certificate’, i4Siri will load a page in safari followed by a provisioning profile sent to your device. Install the provisioning profile.

Step 10: Go to: Settings -> General -> Siri and tap the on switch, this will activate the Siri.

Step 11: Hold down your home button and Say “Hello Siri” if she says hello back you are connected.

i4Siri currently supports: time, timer, notes, ‘smart’ siri, www search, dictation, phone calls, jokes, alarms, weather, where am I?, Reminders (not completely working), Wolfram Alpha, and Location Searches. Here is the list of current commands i4Siri can take.

• Call “Contact Name”
• What is the weather like?
• What’s the weather like in “City, State , Country”
• set an alarm for HH AM/PM <[word 1] [word 2] [word 3]>
• Set timer for ** Hrs/Mins/Secs
• Reset timer
• Pause Timer
• Show Timer
• What Time is it
• What time is it in “Location, City”
• Define “word”
• What is the date today?
• Find food, hotels ETC: find nearest|find nearby|find closest|show closeset|show nearby
• The Horoscope for “Your sign”
• Ask wolfram questions using:
  What is/Who is/Who’s/How long/What’s/How far/When is/Show me/How high/How deep.
