Siri assistant is invoked by holding down the Home Button for few seconds and if you press it frequently, chances are that it will not be as responsive as what it once was. To avoid, a new jailbreak app LockAssistant developed by FreeManRepo has just been released to cydia store which invokes Siri assistant by pressing soft camera button available on iPhone LockScreen. It essentially turns the lockscreen camera button into a lockscreen Siri button.

As soon as you tap the Camera soft button, Siri will be opened – just the same way as you used to invoke it by tapping hardware Home button twice. Though the tweak is handy but it would be nice if the developer could change the default camera icon into a ‘Siri like’ Mic button.

In order to install LockAssistant cydia tweak, your device must be running on jailbroken iOS 5 and above. If you haven’t, then you can use Absinthe tool to jailbreak iPhone 4S or Redsn0w to jailbreak iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS (Siri must be installed). LockAssistant is free from the BigBoss repository in Cydia. Alternatively, download the LockAssistant .deb file for manual installation. If you don’t like the tweak, you can disable it via settings.app. You need not uninstall LockAssistant anymore. Developer recently updated the tweak to LockAssistant 1.0-9 which lets you enable or disable the tweak.

Alternatively, you can try installing SiriLaunch, a similar app, which places a small Siri launch button at the bottom-left of yourNotificationCenter.
