Jailbreak 5.0.1 iPhone 4S / iPad 2 on Windows using Corona Injector CLI [Quick Guide]

iPhone Dev team has extended the support of Corona Injector CLI tool for Windows version. Which means that instead of waiting for Absinthe’s windows version, iPhone 4S or iPad 2 users who are waiting since long can use  Corona Injector Tool to jailbreak their device. Without delving into the details, follow the quick steps listed below.

Jailbreak iPhone 4S, iPad 2 on Windows using CLI tool

Step 1: Download Corona Injector CLI tool for Windows on your desktop

Step 2: Connect your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 to your Windows PC via USB

Step 3: Open CMD.exe

Step 4: cd to the cinject.exe

Step 5: Execute the following command. Do so with device unlocked and approve the install request.

cinject.exe -i payloads\jailbreak.mobileconfig

A5 jailbreak CLI

Just wait until it finishes the operation. While you’re executing these commands, don’t touch your device. Just let the commands (Absinthe) do their work.

Step 6: Then execute the following command to run the jailbreak payload:

cinject.exe -j payloads

You will see following text messages. Sit tight as the tool is installing the payload.

Step 7: Now use “cinject -w” to start watching the syslog. Execute the following command:

cinject.exe -w

Step 8: Toggle the VPN switch in Settings. Leave the password field blank and continue executing the commands. Afterwards toggle the VPN, ignore the error and wait for a reboot.

Once your device is reboot, you are ready to install Cydia apps on your jailbroken A5 device. Let us know if it works for you. Follow @JAlLBREAKS as a token of appreciation or bug him if it errors out.

[UPDATE 1]: If you are getting unknown or strange errors with the CLI version, Try a restore to iOS 5.0.1 and try again. It should solve errors.

[UPDATE 2]: if you get an error “fatal(__LINE__): assertion failed (1266): got == sizeof(size)” You’ll have to reset your ipad ==> go to settings –> General –> Reset –> Erase All Content and Settings. Once done…please try the jailbreak process again.

[UPDATE 3]: Absinthe for Windows download is now available, You can now Jailbreak 5.0.1 iPhone 4S / iPad 2 on Windows using Absinthe.

    The best way to do this is to do a reset first erasing all content and data. Follow the steps to jailbreak and once jailbroken do another reset but this time only select reset all setttings. Once the phone comes back restore from back up using icloud. Now you will have all your data back but still be jailbroken.

    I’d HIGHLY recommend hitting ‘erase all contents and settings’ before doing this.  after going in circles with with CMD, i finally did that and in 1 go I was able to jb it completely!

      when you ran the first command did you approve the install also went to the quick setup for it cause if you dont do that then that could be why your having problems

    Worked for me too! Had to reset ipad2 as new ipad. Then ran jailbreak as described here (had to repeat the process twice…). Now it works lika a charm! :)

    Completely new guide for noobs.
    1) Download the file above in step 3, then extract the folder to your Downloads. (Start Menu, your name, then on the left, downloads.) 
    2) There should now be a folder called: “cinject_0.4.3″ 
    3) Open up CMD and type this (Without “” quotes..): “cd downloads” 
    4) Then, do: “cd cinject_0.4.3″ 
    5) After so, type this command into cmd.. “cinject.exe -i payloads/jailbreak.mobileconfig” 
    6) On your device, click on install, and when prompted to type in a password, just click next, with no password in. 
    7) After so, type this command: “cinject.exe -j payloads”  8) Just wait a little bit. ( Don’t freak out, or jizz ;) ) 
    9) Now after a few minutes from step 8, now type this command: “execute the command: cinject.exe -w” 
    10) On your device, after doing step 9, toggle the “VPN” switch on in the settings, in about a few seconds after, it should say error. 
    11) Wait, then it should restart. Cydia is now installed, and your device is now free! turn your device off and back on if cydia doesnt open in the first try and it should work :)

    found to minimize the errors is to start with a clean ipad install (meaning setup as a new ipad)

    1. follow the instructions above
    2. once completed – ipad resets, and your CLI prompt will be stuck on [file mover install (something like that)
    3. run cydia - 
    4. then you can restore your device from itunes if you like
    5. ure ready to install all your cydia goodies..

    copy and paste the paths, and make sure you first do the backup in itunes then erase all content and settings from iphone. It worked for me before that i got error 1266

    this method does not work after trying 3 times and restoring my phone 2 times and I lost all my pics and Videos  i recently took and IiTnes did not back them up i have given up I get the same error after creating back up so don’t even think about trying just wait until the come out with RedSn0w for windows

    Avant tout sauvegarder le phone via itunes puis aller dans reglages et initialiser contenu + reglage de l’iphone (remise à 0) sinon erreur 1266 lors du backup.
    1/ copier le dossier “cinject_0.4.3″ à la racine de C:
    2/ menu demarrer -> accessoires –> invite de commande (=cmd.exe)
    3/ taper cd c: puis taper cd cinject_0.4.3
    4/ taper la commande cinject.exe -i payloads/jailbreak.mobileconfig
    Sur l’iphone apparait une fenetre avec ecris profil jailbreak, cliquer sur le bouton pour installer ce profil.
    Laisser la fenetre de mot de passe vide.
    5/ lancer la commande cinject.exe -j payloads
    Normallement le backup de l’iphone se crée… et pas d’erreur 1266 si vous avez remis le phone à 0 avant ;-)
    6/ une fois le backup terminé, lancer la commande cinject.exe -w
    7/ aller dans les parametres reseau du phone et activer le profil VPN jailbreak.
    8/ l’Iphone mouline puis reboot. Comme par magie l’icone Cydia apparait sur le springboard….
     Plus qu’a rappeler sa sauvegarde par itunes et c’est tout bon.

    when I try to erase all content and settings, it ask me for a 4 digit passcode. I don’t think I ever set any passcode.

        you have to run it as administrator. In windows 7 press start, type cmd then right click it and select run as administrator.

      restore to iOS 5.0.1 and try again. It should solve error.

          hehe i’m not an expert i’m having a problem with jailbreaking my ipad myself xD
          been trying for few minutes now and still getting an error .. but i’ll gladly help you just follow these steps and tell me if you got an error so i can see if i can help you :here are some details for basic PC users :download the apsinthe zip file and exctract it .. you’ll get a folder called “cinject_0.4.3″ rename that to “jb” and put it in your c: drive ….make sure your ipad is connected to the PCnow go to Start > Accessories > Command Prompt ….now in the black console type in order :1. cd c:jb2. cinject.exe -i payloads/jailbreak.mobileconfig3. now do the do the stuff in your ipad/iphone then go back to the black console .4. cinject.exe -j payloads (type this in your black console)5. cinject.exe -w (also type this in your black console)6. toggle the VPN switch in settings7.wait for the reboot
